Events at Nolo Hub Pai

Tipsy Tubing runs twice a week all season. Below it are the nights we celebrate together, soonest first.

Tipsy Tubing

Every Tuesday and Friday · next on Tuesday 10 November

Float down the Pai River on an inner tube, stopping along the riverbanks for music, games and drinks. We pregame at the hostel from 11am, the truck picks everyone up at 12, and at the end of the day it brings you back to Nolo Hub Pai for tacos. Tickets are 450 THB, online or at reception.

No tubing on Christmas Day: it runs on Saturday 26 December instead.

Coming up

  1. A Nolo Hub Pai group at night on the Pai River, holding up sky lanterns, with lit lanterns rising behind them

    Loy Krathong and Yi Peng

Tuesday 24 November and Wednesday 25 November

Krathongs on the Pai River and sky lanterns over town, on the same full moon. On Tuesday 24 November we meet at the hostel at 8pm, do a lantern release once permission has been given, then take a truck into town for the river and the bars. It’s free, and travellers from other hostels are welcome too.

  2. Guests in Santa hats around the pool at Nolo Hub Pai on Christmas Day

    Christmas at Nolo Hub Pai

Thursday 24 December and Friday 25 December

Two days of it. The Donation Drive and the sunset at Two Huts on Christmas Eve, then Secret Santa, the sunset at Pai Canyon and our all-you-can-eat Christmas dinner on Christmas Day, 400 THB. Backpackers from all over Pai are welcome at dinner.

  3. New Year’s Eve

    Thursday 31 December

We’re still putting the night together. Details soon.

  4. A big Nolo Hub Pai group in the street, soaked and laughing, firing water guns at the camera

    Songkran

Tuesday 13 April to Saturday 17 April

The Thai New Year turns the whole town into a water fight, with a soaking guaranteed around Walking Street, and the northern New Year runs on to the 17th. We take our guests up to mountain village schools outside Pai with water guns for an afternoon water fight with the kids, and celebrate around Pai and the valley together.

There’s something on at the hostel every night too. See the week on Activities.
